Robbinsville – There was only one inning that the visitors could keep the Black Knights out of the score column Tuesday.
Returning to Loudon Orr Memorial Field for Smoky Mountain Conference action against Hiwassee Dam (1-7, 1-6), Robbinsville needed just six innings to run up a 12-2 victory over the Eagles.
The game was highlighted by Easton Shuler launching his second home run of the season. Robbinsville’s backstop also swiped three bases and doubled in the game. He leads the team with a .471 batting average.
Luke Lovin also recorded a two-bagger in the game, joining Shuler in a two-RBI effort.
Benton Gibby and Everett Taylor each posted multi-hit afternoons.
Rylen Orr collected the win for Robbinsville (3-4, 3-4), striking out five and improving to 2-2 this season. Lovin pitched the final three innings, also fanning five and only surrendering one hit.
