Girls, boys compete in Thanksgiving Eve tournaments
Hendersonville – While others were thawing out a feast – or traveling to spend the holiday with family – Robbinsville’s wrestling program was squeezing in one final set of tournaments just 24 hours before Thanksgiving.
The Lady Knights grappled in the … Lady Knight Invitational, which was hosted by North Henderson.
Alexis El-Khouri (138 pounds, 7-4) finished second in her class, while Alexis Miller (114, 11-8) took fourth.
Also competing for Robbinsville was Latesha Orr (107, 8-4), Julia Vazquez (114, 5-8), Madison Cable (120, 1-4), Jacquline Gayosso (145, 3-10), Alyssa Bohn (165, 9-6), Cecelia Maney (185, 3-8) and Aubree Marcus (235, 4-8).
Black Knights
Candler – On the west side of the greater Asheville area, Robbinsville’s boys fought for supremacy in the Jet Invitational, held at Enka.
Triumphing over their respective fields were the Hooper twins: Loxston (132, 15-1) and Lleyton (144, 13-2). Landon Mantz (106, 11-3); Skyler Anderson (113, 14-1), and Adair Panama (120, 13-2) each placed second in their brackets, while Bobby Moore (150, 11-5) and Jeremiah Phillips (165, 16-4) both landed in fourth.
Ethan Webster (126, 13-5) took fifth, while Knox Orr (138, 4-5) and Devin Hall (157, 7-5) also suited up for Robbinsville.
