Andrews – In its only action of the week, Robbinsville Middle School once again swept its Cherokee-County neighbors.
A quick Dec. 8 zip to Andrews netted the middle-school girls a 34-26 win over the Wildcats, with the middle-school boys picking up a 33-30 triumph.
No extra basketball was needed for Robbinsville (6-3) in the second go-around against Andrews, who took the Knights to their very limit in a triple-overtime thriller in Graham County on Dec. 10 – a contest Robbinsville won 49-40, after shutting out the Wildcats in the third-extra session.
In Dec. 8’s affair, Cameron Allison made his return to action and paced the Black Knights’ offense with 12 points. Eli Lambert recorded eight, with Bam Nelms dropping six. A fourth-quarter trey from Xamuel Wachacha – meshed with a pair of buckets off the hands of Elijah Kirkland and Easton Shuler – wrapped up the scoreline in the victory.
Robbinsville (5-4) was led to the win column in the girls game by Chloe Adams’ 13-point afternoon.
Other Lady Knights contributing to the final outcome were Zaelyn Phillips 7, Zayleigh Chekeleelee 6, Daphne Barlow, 3, MyKayla McGuire, 2; and Novie Dutcher, Ella McGuire and Zirriyah Wachacha 1.
