Middle school baseball, softball running the table thus far
Tallulah – Five wins exist between Robbinsville Middle’s baseball and softball teams this season.
On the other side of the win/loss record for both squads? Zeroes.
The Lady Knights (3-0) most recently took down Andrews in a 10-1 win at P&J Field on March 7, before delivering a 13-8 loss to Swain County in a road game Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Black Knights (2-0) were unable to face Andrews on March 7 due to marshy field conditions; a make-up date has not been determined yet. Robbinsville used the extra gap between games to prepare for Tuesday’s journey to Bryson City, which ended with an 8-inning, 11-7 triumph over the Maroon Devils.
The Lady Knights were nicely boosted to victory at Swain by a pair of huge hits: Loxley Burke raked an inside-the-park home run and Khaygen Buchanan kindly cleared the basepath with an inside-the-park grand slam.
Posting hits for the Black Knights on Tuesday were Peyton Brooks, Ayden Conley, Benton Gibby, Deacon Hyde, Jackson Lane, Rylen Orr and Easton Shuler.
Wachacha and Orr split two innings of duty on the hill, with Shuler logging four.
