Asheville – For the first time since the debut series of the season, the Robbinsville Black Knights have a winning record.
The varsity stars of the diamond picked up a Spring Break game to complete the deed, which took the Knights to Asheville for action against the IC (Invest Collegiate) Imagine Kingfishers.
Robbinsville handled things from the opening at-bat, putting up three in the first inning and ultimately run-ruling the hosts 18-3 in six frames.
When the dust settled, Luke Lovin had tripled and drove in three runs for Robbinsville (7-6). Rylen Orr doubled and collected four RBIs for the Black Knights, while Everett Taylor also doubled and had a multi-hit evening.
Peyton Brooks was 3-for-4 at the dish and had three RBIs of his own, while Evan Menard posted a three-hit performance and recorded two RBIs.
Orr improved to 3-3 on the year while toeing the rubber, lasting four innings and striking out nine IC Imagine (3-7) batters.
