Cherokee – At this juncture, members of the Braves have to be pointing fingers of blame and asking, "Who owes them money?"
Following a 28-1 drubbing of their divisional foe April 7, Robbinsville (6-6, 6-4) made the return trip to Cherokee (1-11, 1-9) for the series finale Friday. In short order, the Black Knights ran up a 22-2 spread on the hosts – making this season's run differential between the two schools 50-3.
Luke Lovin had another stellar afternoon at the plate, slamming three hits, doubling twice and ensuring four runs came home for Robbinsville. Evan Menard also posted two RBIs.
The Knights also continuously swiped bases, as Easton Shuler stole three; Benton Gibby and Xamuel Wachacha had two; and Jackson Lane joined Lovin to take one base apiece.
Peyton Brooks picked up his first win of the season, a no-hitter that saw Brooks strike out three.
