Robbinsville – The first quarter of Nov. 21’s home game was shaky, but the Lady Knights led 8-6 nonetheless.
The second period? An 18-3 drubbing – advantage, Robbinsville.
In the final action before Thanksgiving, the Lady Knights bumped their record to 3-3 on the season by limiting the visiting Andrews Lady Wildcats to just eight more points over the course of a 44-14 blowout at Robbinsville Elementary School.
Sparking the offensive flurry was Zayleigh Chekelelee, who outscored the entire Andrews offense alone with 17 points, six steals, five rebounds and an assist to her credit. Coming to life in the second was Lakin Orr, who dropped 10 points and added three rebounds, two steals and an assist to the outcome.
Other Lady Knights to pile on were McKynlee Adams 6; Aaliyah Wolfe 4; Zachlan Chekelelee, Natalie Swimmer and Myah Winfrey, 2 each; and Mercy Nelms 1.
The Black Knights were down two prolific scoring threats at tip-off and kept pace nicely in the first stanza, but an 18-11 deficit quickly grew as the well-disciplined Wildcats went on to prevail 54-23.
Leading Robbinsville’s scoreline was Mason Chekelelee, who posted nine.
Also scoring was Trevor Jenkins 5; David Guzman, Carson Snider, Dayton Weaver and Kenai Wolfe, 2 apiece; and Kamden Driver 1.
