Looking to avenge their first loss of the season, the middle school Lady Knights entered Friday's road game on the wrong end of a 6-4 ballgame.
Unfazed by the elements, Robbinsville put together back-to-back innings of three-run softball to stun the hosting Andrews Lady Wildcats 10-6.
Ella Nelms finished a single shy of the cycle, posting four RBIs and three hits. Allie Phillips doubled and also had three RBIs, while Myah Winfrey tripled and also drove in a pair of runs for Robbinsville (6-1).
Toeing the rubber was Mylee Webster and Nelms. Webster struck out two in three innings, while Nelms polished off the Cats with four strikeouts down the stretch.
The Lady Knights then benefitted from a combined no-no at Hiwassee Dam/Ranger on Tuesday, with Nelms mowing down five Lady Eagles and Webster fanning six in a 16-0 rout. At the plate, Natalee Myers doubled and tripled for Robbinsville. Ty Chekelelee also doubled and had three RBIs, while Nelms collected three hits and two RBIs. Phillips and Webster both had extra-base hits, as well.
Black Knights
The middle school baseball program had no problem swinging its bats Friday, running up a 23-13 final over Andrews.
Doubling for Robbinsville (3-4) were Conner Hyde, Walker Lane, Brayson Anderson and Canon Menard. Matt Woodard logged four innings of starting work on the mound, with Hyde and Carsan Snider finishing up the evening in relief.
The Knights fell victim to bad luck Tuesday, losing 9-8 to Hiwassee Dam/Ranger when the game was called due to time constraints.
Lane and Anderson both doubled again, with Kamden Driver and Snider taking care of pitching duties.
