The by-product of postponements finally came back around, with the Lady Knights playing four games in as many days last week before hosting conference-leading Cherokee on Monday.
Robbinsville (12-9, 4-6) swept Swain County (5-17, 2-10) in a home/away, make-up set Feb. 4-5; fell to Hayesville (16-7, 9-2) on Friday; knocked off Nantahala (2-18) in another rescheduled affair Saturday; and fell to Cherokee (21-1) on Senior Night.
The Lady Knights began the stretch by knocking off the Lady Devils, 40-34. Abby Wehr led Robbinsville with a double-double: 10 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two assists and one block.
Also scoring were Bentley Riggins 8; Zaelyn Phillips and Aaliyah Wolfe, 6 each; and both Zachlan and Zayleigh Chekelelee, 5 apiece.
Carley Teesateskie led Swain County with nine points in the game.
The following night in Bryson City, both offenses rebounded in a 68-60 win for the Knights.
Zayleigh Chekelelee hit five from outside and finished the evening with 25 points, three assists, two steals and a rebound. Others to score for Robbinsville were Riggins 16; Phillips 10; Wolfe 7; Novie Dutcher 8; and both Zachlan Chekelelee and Wehr, 1 each.
Teesateskie again led the Lady Devils, hitting 22.
The Lady Knights could not sustain the momentum during the visit to Clay County, dropping a back-and-forth nail biter to the Lady Jackets 45-42.
Phillips led Robbinsville with a double-double of her own: 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Also scoring were Wehr 9; Riggins 6; Wolfe 5; Zayleigh Chekelelee 4; and both Zachlan Chekelee and Dutcher, 2 each.
Ava Shook scored 24 to lead Hayesville.
Saturday's trip to Nantahala ended with a 52-14 win for the Lady Knights.
Phillips scored 11 to pace the Lady Knights. Others to score were Dutcher, Riggins and Wehr, 8 each; Zayleigh Chekelelee 6; Emory and Zachlan Chekelelee, and Bella Coats, 3 apiece; and Wolfe 2.
Both Delaney McLean and Zoey Passmore led Nantahala with six each.
Robbinsville dropped Monday's game to Cherokee, 65-17.
Haizleigh Driver had five points to lead the Lady Knights. Also scoring were Phillips and Riggins, 4 each; and both Zayleigh Chekelelee and Dutcher, 2 apiece.
Madison Rogers put up 19 to lead the Lady Braves.
Junior varsity
In Robbinsville's return to junior varsity action, the Lady Knights (6-4) dropped a 46-29 outing to Cherokee.
Driver again led the way for Robbinsville, posting 13. Others contributing to the final outcome were Emory Chekelelee 7; and Emery Beasley, Coats and Brooklyn Cox, 3 each.
