Robbinsville – After playing both the regular-season champions and the second-place team in the standings during the same week, the Lady Knights hope to wrap up fourth in the division today.
To do so, Robbinsville (10-10, 4-7) is required to make the arduous journey to Transylvania County for the wrap-up against Rosman (5-12, 2-9). The Knights won Sept. 16's home match against the Lady Tigers 23-25, 18-25, 25-11, 21-25.
Securing fourth in the standings would ensure a first-round contest in the league tournament with Andrews (10-11, 4-8).
The championship showcase kicks off Saturday and continues through Wednesday, at Hayesville.
The Lady Knights fell in recent action to Hayesville (22-3, 9-2) on Oct. 2: 9-25, 18-25 and 16-25; before dropping Monday's Pink Night affair to Cherokee (23-8, 12-0): 25-14, 25-13, 25-16.
JV, middle school
Robbinsville (15-4) came out on the short end of both junior-varsity outings during the week: a 25-21, 22-25, 12-15 loss at Hayesville was followed by a 25-19, 14-25, 15-13 defeat at the hands of the Lady Braves.
The middle school Knights improved to 9-4, picking up a win over the Lady Jackets and winning a thriller over Cherokee: 23-25, 26-28.
