Black Knights look to finish at top of pack
The woes of the road were nowhere in sight for the Robbinsville Middle School Lady Knights this week, as the team sits just two wins shy of an unblemished regular season.
Following a 10-0 win at Hayesville on April 25, Robbinsville (10-0) traveled to Cherokee for a make-up game Monday and hacked its way to a 6-4 win. Helping out the cause was a pair of home runs from Jayden Chekeleelee and Kynadee Spencer.
Across the bow, the middle school baseball team is also polishing off a fine trek through the calendar.
Robbinsville (7-2) suffered a rare setback April 25. Coming off an 11-7 home victory over Hayesville just two days earlier, the Black Knights traveled to Clay County and failed to get out of first gear in a 10-0, 5-inning loss.
Due to rain, the Knights’ will now complete the regular slate by visiting Murphy after Wednesday’s press deadline; before welcoming the Lady Bulldogs for 8th Grade Night at 4 p.m., today.
