Robbinsville – Things are clicking at the right time for the middle school basketball program.
In its weekly home slate, the Lady Knights (5-5) fought off a pair of deadlocks at the end of both the first and third quarters to exorcise the Swain County Lady Devils 42-34; while the Black Knights (8-2) toppled the visitors 57-30 in the nightcap.
Natalie Swimmer emerged as Robbinsville's top scorer in the opening victory, collecting 14 points to lead the way. Lakin Orr drained a pair of 3's and finished with 10 overall, while Kamry Rogers posted eight.
Others to score for the Lady Knights were Mercy Nelms – who hit a thrilling, 3-pointer at the final buzzer to put a resounding stamp on the win – with 5; Elizabeth Solorio 3; and both McKynlee Adams and Alicia Garcia, 1 each.
Carsan Snider continued his strong campaign by dropping 14 for the Black Knights. Snider also recorded six assists, three rebounds and one steal.
Micah York was close behind, with 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal; while both Brayden Allison and Zeller Chekelelee had eight apiece.
Rounding out Robbinsville's offense was David Guzman 6; Kamden Driver 3; Canyon Gross and Landon Silvers, 2 each; and Mason Walkingstick 1.

Murphy – The Lady Knights extracted a measure of revenge Monday, traveling to Cherokee County and splitting the season series with Murphy by picking up a 43-35 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Adams recovered nicely from an off night against Swain, hitting 20 at Murphy. Swimmer put up 11 and Orr recorded six.
Closing out the book was Rogers 3 and Kenzie Williams 2.
The Black Knights held Murphy to the same output, but collected a 50-35 triumph.
Snider stayed busy, with 26 to his credit. Allison posted 16 and Guzman scored five. Driver hit a basket and York connected for a free throw to polish off the trip.
Today's home game against Hiwassee Dam was pushed back to Wednesday, Dec. 17, leaving Robbinsville with only one game in its immediate future: a road trip to Cherokee on Monday. The girls will tip-off at 4 p.m., with the boys to follow.
