Middle school boys trump Andrews in triple overtime
Robbinsville – It took three extra periods, but the Knights got the job done.
The Robbinsville Middle School boys carved out their second win of the season in exhausting fashion, using an 9-0 shutout in a third overtime session to best Andrews 49-40 on Nov. 10.
The Knights held a 24-21 advantage entering the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats refused to relent and outpaced Robbinsville (2-1) in a 12-9 final quarter of regulation to force extra basketball. The two teams remained in a stalemate until triple overtime, which saw Xamuel Wachacha drop five points and Cameron Allison tack on a pair of buckets. Andrews went 0-for-4 at the foul line during its final effort.
Allison finished the game with 30 points. Wachacha had 12, while Easten Shuler’s 3 points and Eli Lambert’s second-quarter basket rounding out the scoreline.
Lady Knights
Robbinsville also shined in the Nov. 10 girls opener against Andrews, opening a 30-4 lead over the Lady Wildcats by halftime and rolling to an eventual 47-8 victory.
Chloe Adams led the offensive outpour from the Lady Knights, scoring 18. Others included in the crowded scoreline were MyKayla McGuire, 6; Zayleigh Wachacha, 5; Brooklyn Cox, 4; Aaliyah Wolfe and Ella McGuire, with 3 each; Emory Chekeleelee, Bella Coats and Novie Dutcher, 2 apiece; Ella Nelms and Zaelyn Phillips, 1 each.
