* Final in a 4-part series Sweetwater – In 2012, Susie Garland Adams was doing all the right things to detect breast cancer early.  At 47 years of age, she had a regular exam at Tallulah Health Clinic by Dr. Patricia Johnson. She had been for her annual checkup by her OBGYN in Asheville.

Have you ever wondered how the pink ribbon became the symbol of breast cancer? Why October is recognized as “Pinktober” and is known as the month of Breast Cancer Awareness?  It’s the time of year for pumpkins, bonfires, apple cider, corn mazes, haunted houses and hayrides.
Diagnosed in January 2011, Kay Kuhn braved her battle with breast cancer and – through her faith in God – has dispelled its return since.

Mountain Creek – At 62, Kay Kuhn completed her yearly physical at Tallulah Health Center – which included a mammogram. She remembers the date: it was Dec. 18, 2010. The week before Christmas. Kuhn didn’t hear back from her reports and assumed everything was well.
Regina Webster (shown with her husband Dickey) was cancer-free when she went for a physical in November 2010. Seven months later, she began her battle with the disease. Today, Webster’s triumph is a win she heavily attributes to her faith in God.

* Part 2 of a 4-part series Tallulah – Regina Webster knows who holds her future. A woman of faith, Webster was raised in a Christian home, married a Godly man and raised her four sons in church. She played the piano, helped in Vacation Bible school in the summer and led the youth choir.
