Skyway Convenience re-opens
Santeetlah – Cherohala Skyway Convenience Store re-opened under new owners and management Feb. 19.
Kae and Moe Salah look forward to meeting new friends and serving the community. Although the two men are new to the operation, their partner Imran Alam owns 19 gas stations in North Carolina.
Their goal to provide a familiar spot in the county where everything a resident or visitor could need will be available.
Moe has culinary degrees from Switzerland, the Middle East and Ireland. He has a variety of items on the food bar, including steak, chicken, mashed potatoes and corn – and hopes to add daily specials soon. He has expanded the kitchen to include The Red Seal Grill, which features pizzeria-style pizza and grilled items.
Kae has experience in office management and will use his skills in that area, as they offer a smoke shop, dining area, convenience items, gaming area, souvenirs, a great selection of fine wine, and a beer cave. They hope to add Skyway t-shirts and Tail of the Dragon gear soon. They also proudly offer no ethanol, premium gas.
They are excited to meet members of the community, and welcome everyone to come by and say hello.
Some local faces will also be working at the store, as well.
Skyway Convenience is open 6 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday-Saturday; and from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sundays. The buffet is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., daily.
