Robbinsville – The Graham Cancer Support Group continues to serve the community, with nearly $30K distributed to those in need.
Applications are still being accepted for those battling cancer, with patients eligible for $250 every 90 days. As of July 16, the group has received $29,550.
Another $48,507.94 is currently available for distribution.
“The funds were raised by the people of Graham County, for the people of Graham County,” noted the group’s president, Vicki Walsh.
At its July 15 meeting, the group also discussed its on-going silent auction, which can be viewed inside the United Community Bank lobby. Among the items available for bidding is men’s and women’s baskets, an electric bike, a smoker, $100 cash and a 1995 Ford F-150 truck, which is on-display at the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.
The auction ends Friday, Aug. 20. Basket winners will be announced Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Stecoah Heritage Festival, while those who won the bike, smoker and truck will be revealed at December’s Hometown Holiday event in Robbinsville.
Raffle tickets for the prizes can be bought at United Community Bank, Full Bloom Too, and The Produce Market and Country Store.
