Jason Michael Duke
A Town of Fontana Dam employee – who also serves on the community’s council – has been arrested.
Arrest reports from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that town of Fontana Dam Utilities Director Jason Michael Duke, 41, was arrested on Friday and charged with a single count of driving while impaired and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. He was released from custody the same day after posting a $1,000 unsecured bond.
Duke has served as the town’s utilities director since early 2021 and was sworn in as a council member at the body’s May 19 meeting. Duke previously worked as a water plant operator for the town of Andrews.
The town declined to comment on the incident.
