Beloved senior remembered for loving personality
Charlotte – Shalimar Freedom Daniels was sunshine on a cloudy day to all who knew her.
She never met a stranger. She greeted everyone she met with a contagious smile and a great love.
Just before she had a chance to cast another ray of sunshine on the world, Daniels passed away at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. She was 18.
With personality, style and grace, Daniels roamed the halls of Robbinsville High School, stealing the hearts of faculty and students alike. She loved Black Knights football, and enjoyed the friendship of football players and cheerleaders who embraced her team spirit and enthusiasm. She was loved by all, sharing custom bracelets and crochet projects with classmates, staff and faculty. She loved meeting new people and was known as a social butterfly.
As a senior, she served as grand marshal in the homecoming parade in 2024 and was an honorary attendant in homecoming. She had a love for life and a love for others. Proverbs 18:24 reads, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly.” Daniels took this verse seriously. She trusted in Jesus as her Lord and Savior – becoming a born-again Christian as a child – and was ready to meet Him. To know that she is in Heaven, healthy and whole, is healing, but her arrival there has left a void in the hearts of many.
She leaves behind her mother, sisters, grandparents, other family members and her church family, Grace Fellowship Baptist.
Graham County Schools will dismiss early at 1 p.m., today and afterschool services have been canceled in order to allow students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to attend her funeral, which will be held at 2 p.m., at Lone Oak Baptist Church (3699 Tapoco Road, Robbinsville).
