Jacob Nicholas Franks
A Graham County man was arrested after allegedly attempting to run over a deputy sheriff and attempting to flee the scene.
Jacob Nicholas Franks, 31, allegedly attempted to back over Graham County Deputy Jordan Rogers with a 1968 Ford truck May 27. Rogers was in the vicinity investigating a report of trespassing.
Franks also allegedly attempted to drive away from the scene after Rogers told him to stop.
For his alleged misdeeds, Franks was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a public official – a felony – a misdemeanor charge of resisting a public officer and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Franks bonded out after posting a $5,000 bail on May 28.
