Jason Duke
Fontana Dam – More details have come to light, following the June 11 arrest of a Town of Fontana Dam employee and councilman.
Court documents state that Town of Fontana Dam council member, utilities director and water plant operator Jason Duke was allegedly driving around the Fontana Village Resort area while impaired, with his two children in the vehicle with him.
The documents also stated that upon his arrest, Duke appeared intoxicated and disruptive, and was shouting and swearing. He was also allegedly throwing belongings in a parking area.
He was arrested on one count of driving while impaired and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. Duke posted a $1,000 bond, and was released the same day. He is scheduled to go before the magistrate on Aug. 2.
Duke started as the town’s utilities director in early 2021, after a stint in Andrews. He was sworn in as a member of the town council at its May regular meeting.
