A man and a woman have been arrested charges of drug trafficking following an April 27 traffic stop in Graham County.
Louise Antoinette Coleman, 26 of Andrews and Lawrence Heath Knighton, 42 of Robbinsville, were both arrested after being pulled over in a 2018 Jeep Compass just north of Robbinsville.
During the stop, Graham County K-9 Earp indicated the presence of drugs. The resulting search led to the discovery of more than 230 grams of meth, digital scales and other paraphernalia. The Jeep was also seized.
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Police also assisted in the investigation.
Knighton has been charged with felony tracking of a schedule II controlled substance and felony possession of a schedule II substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver. He was also charged with felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for use, storage or sale of controlled substances. He was issued a $110,000 bond and remains in custody.
Coleman was charged with felony trafficking of a schedule II controlled substance and felony possession of a schedule II substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver.
She was held on a $100,000 bond, and was released Friday.
