Robbinsville – If local businesses wish to hold a special event with alcohol included, they must pay the Town of Robbinsville $50 for a permit.
At the municipality’s board of aldermen meeting Dec. 8, it was noted that Andrews’ price was $25 and Cherokee’s price was $75 for the same permit. The said business will also have to pay upwards of $500 for a beer and wine license.
Discussed later in the meeting was $153,093.20, which will include two officers’ new, training, uniforms and vehicles.
“Now with the alcohol and everything, I think that it’s more important than ever that we reconsider (the amount),” stated new aldermen Kenneth Hyde.
Additionally, the Tallulah water plant has had a $100,000 grant approved by the state. If other funds are collected, new meters and a new meter reading system will be purchased.
Also discussed at the meeting:
* Becky Ward has resigned from the Robbinsville Tourism Authority board. Seth Mullinax is set to replace her.
* Two signs and four speed humps are set to be quoted for Ford Street.
* A $600 hazard pay was approved for the Graham County Board of Elections employees.
