The Graham County Sheriff’s Office has made plans to spread its own brand of holiday joy this year.

The third annual Shop with a Cop will take place in December, where the office buys Christmas presents for county families. Children are paired with officers, who provide transportation to and from school. On the trip, the child picks out a present and eats a meal with the officer.

“Our officers look forward to getting to know these children and to hopefully put smiles on their faces,” Graham County Sheriff Jerry Crisp said. “This event provides the officers with the opportunity to interact with the children and their families, and hopefully build stronger relationships with them.”

Donations made last year allowed the office to shop for 38 children. If you are interested in aiding the cause, you can send your contribution to: Graham County Sheriff’s Office, Attention: Shop with a Cop, P.O. Box 622, Robbinsville, NC 28771. The office requests that all donations be submitted by Monday, Nov. 30.
