Fletcher – The 2022 installment of the N.C. Mountain State Fair was kind to both individuals and organizations from Graham County.
The annual showcase was held at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher (an Asheville suburb) from Sept. 9-18. Across the nine-day spectacular, members of Graham County’s 4-H organization – dubbed the “Misfit Wranglers” – as well as representatives from the nonprofit, Tuskegee-based Double 00 Farm participated.
Accolades collected include:
* Misfit Wranglers: Purple (Superior) ribbons in large and medium animals, best-kept area and most educational;
* Double 00 Farm: first-place ribbon in display swine; first-place ribbon
in display equine; first-place ribbons in equine and goat displays; first-place and judges’ choice ribbons in sweet potatoes and oddity root vegetable, for sweet potato; first-place ribbon in hot peppers;
* Levi Ensley: first place in commercial doe (goat), for “Flossie;” first place reserve champion for “Eliza;”
* Reagan Ensley: second place in commercial doe, for “Geneva.”
Both Ensleys are members of the Misfit Wranglers 4-H organization.
