Robbinsville – The Graham County Travel & Tourism board held a meeting Oct. 7, to discuss budgeting and upcoming fall events.
The planned fall event is called “The Road to Fall,” a collaborative effort on the Cherohala Skyway.
This is the third year that Graham County has partnered with Monroe County, Tenn. to do a scenic drive on the Cherohala Skyway. Once participants complete the Tennessee side of the drive, they can go to the Robbinsville visitor center to collect a token for completing of the event.
Both Miata and Mini Cooper clubs have also expressed interest in coming back to Graham County. The board has decided to contact the group to possibly help fund their events here, given that both clubs help boosts the county’s revenue.
The board also announced expenditures of $547,050.72 for the fiscal 2021 year. Graham County Travel & Tourism had a positive variance of $19,160.26 from 2020 to this year.
