Christine McGuire Jackson

Christine Phillips McGuire Jackson, 78, of the West Buffalo Community in Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

A native of Graham County, she was the oldest child of the late Ray and Ethel Adams Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Garland McGuire; her son in law, Bobby Whitener; her sister, Barbara McClung; and her brother, Aquilla Phillips.

Christine was the epitome of what a wife and mother should be as described in Proverbs 31. Her priority was Christ and showing His love to others. She set an example that will shape generations to come. She was an active member of Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. She loved doing for others and used her cooking talents to share what she prepared.

When her children were at home, she and Garland provided a loving home with discipline, love, and lots of fun. They spent a lot of time camping at Hooper Bald or on Lake Santeetlah and riding horses and motorcycles all over the West Buffalo Community.

Christine is survived by her husband, Jack Jackson; her daughters and son-in-law, Ruth Whitener of Murphy, N.C., and Revonda and Jerry Williams of Robbinsville, N.C.; her son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Tammy McGuire, of Huntsville, Ala.; her grandchildren, Dusty and Janis Satterfield, Tyler Satterfield, Morgan and John Fields, Jake and Briana Williams, and Lilli Whitener; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Cole Satterfield, Ashelyn and Lawson Fields, and Sutton Williams; her step-children. Linea and Tommy Cable and Mark Jackson, all of Robbinsville, N.C.; her step-grandchildren, Savannah and Alex Walsh, Forest and Alyssa Cable, and Taelyr and Turner Jackson; her grand-dog, Ranger; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia “Cook” and Ken Banks of Toccoa, Ga., and Melba Millsaps and Roma and Bobby Brooks all of Robbinsville, N.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, D.R. and Loretta Phillips of Robbinsville, N.C.; her brother-in-law, Sam McClung of Robbinsville, N.C.; and her sister-in-law, Karen Phillips of Robbinsville, N.C.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at her beloved Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. Revs. Daniel Stewart and Mickey Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at the McGuire Cemetery.
