Based upon the election reporting in last week’s Graham Star, I see that a good majority of people voted for Donald Trump.
If you are like me, you may be having serious doubts about the integrity of the election process in the United States.
Before someone suggests that we have to trust and respect our government, take a moment to remember the last four years. The Democrat party spent 50 million dollars to investigate Russian collusion – after they concocted the story behind closed doors – and lied to the public for three years.
Forgive me if I find it hard to trust the process which led to a Biden “win”.
It is possible that there will be no large scale fraud, or no proven fraud. We must simply wait and see.
The reality of the matter is that we don’t have a newly-elected president at this time, nor do we have an incumbent. This will happen over the course of two months, as the electoral college and the House of Representatives move forward with their duties. This means that there will be much-needed investigation and litigation to determine whether or not fraud occurred.
Conservatives need to know the difference between lost battles and wars. A lost battle is not equivalent to a lost war, and this current moment is no time to back down from the culture war.
Perhaps what I appreciate most about Donald Trump is that he wasn’t afraid to confront the culture. Many Republicans have come and gone without much of a complaint about what happens to the unborn in our country. Donald Trump spoke clearly and concisely about this.
Donald Trump did not make excuses for Antifa, the mainstream media, BLM rioters, or any other group that rejected the American way of life or promoted terrorism. He fought against the rewriting of our history, when the 1619 Project fabricated a racist origin story. He knew that the culture war was the true battlefield and despite his flaws, he fought hard against the Marxist culture that has begun to decay our society.
Andrew Breitbart said that politics is downstream of culture. I’ve also heard it said that culture is downstream of religion.
It is not the time to tuck our tails and say that it is meaningless to vote. It is not the time to withdraw and disengage from the culture. It is not the time to feign agreement with the mob as they force their secular religion upon the nation. It is a good time to stand boldly and say that we are all created equal, that we were endowed unalienable rights by our Creator, and that we are one nation under God.
When men who swear an oath on the Bible really believe that they will be judged by the God who wrote it, we will then be able to trust the results of our political process.
