An invitation from Jesus Christ, Part 2

In continuation with last week’s article, the death of Jesus Christ is actually not the end; on the third day, Jesus Christ arose from the grave, which was mentioned in John 20:3-7.

According to ancient times, the Jews would fold their napkins at a dinner to indicate to those gathered that the person leaving the group for a moment would be back. Thus, the folding of the napkin at the sepulcher or tomb by Jesus Christ tells us that He is coming back.

Just as the bridegroom was away preparing a place for His bride in ancient times, Christ Jesus, our bridegroom is away preparing a place for us, as stated in John 14:2-3.

While we are waiting for the return of Jesus Christ, we have the Holy Spirit to go and guide us. Jesus said in John 16:7,13-14, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it to you.”

Although there are scoffers walking according to their own lusts, as mentioned in 2 Peter 3:3: “And saying, where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

The big question is: Could we as the bride of Christ be asleep when He returns? Matthew 25 narrated the parable of the 10 virgins. The wise and the foolish were sleeping, while the bridegroom tarried. They all had lamps but only five had oil in their lamps. Could it be that the foolish had no light in themselves?

It’s stated in Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” God will help us to listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit, who will lead and guide us into all truth. He will not mislead us. The Holy Spirit is our helper and if we will listen as a wise person listens to reproof and correction, we can be sure that we will be a bride without spot or wrinkle.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John 3:2.

Jesus Christ loves you more than you will ever know. God bless you, all my dearest readers.
