Kamala, or a chameleon in high heels?

The Presidential race is in full sprint now.

The most interesting thing about the race so far has been the coup resulting in Biden’s replacement with Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate.

While running the shortest presidential campaign we’ll probably ever see, Harris didn’t do an interview until the 40th day of her campaign. It’s easy to speculate she (or Democratic Party powers-that-be) doesn’t want voters to know her positions well: as a far-left, San Francisco Democrat, she’s advocated many unpopular policies.

It’s hard to take her seriously, now that she’s promoting her policies.

Politicians are infamous for flip-flopping – especially during elections.

In 1932, Hoover called his opponent, FDR, a “chameleon on plaid.”

Not all turnabouts have been negative; as governor of California, Reagan signed one of the most liberal abortion laws in the country; but when running for president, adopted a firm pro-life position – warranting love/respect by social conservatives to this day.

The problem with most flip-flops in politics is they’re the result of hypocrisy, lack of integrity, and pandering to voters – just to get elected.

While politicians and flip-flopping go together like biscuits and gravy, Kamala is taking it to a whole new level.

The list of issues she’s flipping on is long and includes positions on defunding the police, banning fracking, a gun buyback program and EV mandates.

Since she was tasked by Biden to “stem the migration” at the Southern border (described as the “border czar” by the legacy media, until being tapped to take Biden’s place), consider her previous statements against her current desire to be seen as tough at the border:

* In 2017, as Senator, she tweeted, “Trump’s border wall is just a stupid use of money. I will block any funding for it.”

* In 2019, while launching her first presidential run (back when the Democratic Party voted to elect candidates), Harris called the wall Trump’s “medieval vanity project” that won’t stop gangs from entering our country.

* In 2020, she posted, “Trump’s border wall is a complete waste of taxpayer money and won’t make us any safer.”

Now she’s pledging to sign a border security bill that includes building part of the wall.

How can the person who – while in charge – welcomed the invasion of illegal immigrants for 3.5 years, now want to stop illegal immigration?

She exhibits utter contempt for voters when making statements like:  “The most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed.”

That only makes sense if she has no convictions and her “values” are doing whatever it takes to get elected.

On whether she can still be considered a Progressive, Bernie Sanders said, “I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals; I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.”

Is she doing what she thinks is right?

Or, is she doing what it takes to win – and then she’ll do what she really thinks is right?
