If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. JOHN 8:36
It has been said by many people that “If they can do it, you can do it as well.” This refers to your strong determination and will to stop smoking. Whatever driving force you use, use it to make your goal successful.
But, people always think that they’ve tried to stop smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products. Yet, they still fail to succeed.
Whether the nicotine addiction and other illegal substances have had a big hold in your life since your teenage years or not, always remember that nothing beats the power of transformation only found in Christ Jesus.
It is through the grace and glory of God that everything works successfully, if you also do your part by completely surrendering all your addictions from moral weakness and other bad habits in Jesus’ name. You will be free indeed from the bondages of sin.
I am a licensed nurse in the Philippines. I make sure that I always walk my talk and practice what I preach. Thankfully enough, my parents were not cigarette smokers; they did their best to set a good example to us four children. Consequently, I’m not a cigarette or tobacco smoker – nor do I take illegal drugs – because I know for sure that these substances will gradually destroy me mentally, physically and spiritually. These harmful substances do not bring glory to God’s name, but only shame and complete destruction.
But I do not believe it is too late for you to stop smoking and remove all those harmful chemicals that you put into your body. As long as Jesus Christ has not returned yet, there’s still a big chance for you to be saved from death,
both physical and spiritual.
Know that your body is considered the temple of the Holy Spirit. If you destroyed it like through cigarette smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol, taking illegal substances and other harmful stuff, God will surely destroy you for being stiffed neck or stubborn person.
For God said in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, “Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroy the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”
Unfortunately, I’ve heard several stories of people dying from cancer – such as lung cancer – while others die from overdose because of illegal substances.
Stop worrying or stress yourself with those harmful stuff. This makes God so sad, because of what you’re doing to your health and life in general.
Jesus always wants the best for your life. He doesn’t want to destroy you, unless you truly ask for it.
In Jeremiah 29:11, it states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a hopeful end.”
May you have the courage now to quit smoking cigarettes, as well as those illegal substances, by God’s grace and mercy. May the peace of God touch your heart today as you read this article.
