Walk by faith, not by sight

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

It can be difficult for a new Christian believer to do what God requires from us: “walk by faith and not by sight.”

For the world would always proclaim that one had to see it first before you would believe on something or someone.

Also, the overwhelming fear that rules your heart prevents you from believing that God is in control of everything.

In Matthew 14, Peter climbed out of the boat and walked on top of the water, then he came towards Jesus. But, when he saw that the wind was still blowing against him, he became afraid and started to sink.

Sometimes, the distraction in life makes one fall easily. It automatically leads the person to think of quitting at once.

But for strong Christian believers, they fear nothing and no one by the grace of God. Not even life-threatening situations, nor crisis like financial, political, health and family crisis can ever stop people who believe and completely trust the mighty name of Jesus. It is because He is able to deliver them from all trouble and difficulties in life.

Remember what David did to that giant. He courageously fought the giant who was known as a Philistine warrior.

It stated in 1 Samuel 17:45, “Then said David to the Philistine, you come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

That young man was so brave enough and more confident that he will win the battle. Simply because he believed that the battle was the Lord’s. Indeed, he gained victory through the mighty hands of God.

With that in mind, no one can really have that human strength and courage alone. Instead, it’s always through God’s help and prayers that one can overcome any circumstance or issues in life.

In Proverbs 31:25, “Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”

When we stand tall and gain strength from God, we need not be afraid for the future and what lies ahead. This is because we are prepared to continue on with our lives.

As we face the New Year and try to start it correctly, may we allow Jesus Christ to save us from our sins by coming into repentance, surrendering our lives to Him alone and allowing Him to lead us and mold us into better Christians while waiting for His final return.
