Canton – A pair of standout performances highlighted Robbinsville’s first entry into the 2023 shooting season, which occurred Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Midwest Invitational in Canton.
Ryan Lynn was the highest finisher for Robbinsville High School, taking 16th in the packed 121-competitor field. Lynn scored a 190 in archery; 173 in rifle and a 170 in shotgun.
Myley Hyde placed 30th, following scores of 177 in archery, 167 in rifle and 150 in shotgun. Cyler Orr was not far behind, with a 33rd-place ranking on scores of 172 (archery), 165 (rifle) and 150 (shotgun). David Lovingood’s 38th-place finish was thanks to scores of 176 (archery), 170 (shotgun) and 128 (rifle).
Also competing for Robbinsville High was Gabby Hernandez (45th place, 439 total points); Mason Johnson (68th, 308 points); Zane Hensley (71st, 304 points); Ethan Hayes (81st, 229 points); Will Crisp (99th, 178 points); and Chloe Lambert (120th, 80 points).
Collectively, Robbinsville High finished with 2,537 points.
Middle school
Rylen Orr proved to be the highest placer for Robbinsville on the day, as he cemented a fifth-place finish in the middle-school competition.
Rylen scored a perfect 200 in the shotgun, but dropped the competition after a 9-person shootout. Orr also etched a 182 in archery and 165 in rifle.
Austin Angelo was 26th overall for Robbinsville Middle, with splits of 180 (archery), 175 (rifle) and 130 (shotgun). Bella Eddings placed 39th, between scores of 161 (rifle), 120 (shotgun) and 118 (archery), with Landon Eddings taking 42nd on scores of 154 (archery), 117 (rifle) and 110 (shotgun).
Also posting scores for Robbinsville Middle were Deacon Hyde (43rd, 381 points); Bryan Hernandez (64th, 288). Robbinsville finished with 2,219 combined points on the day.
Robbinsville’s shooting team will head to the Far West Invitational in Marble on Saturday.
