Rescue boat revealed

Funding for police boat signed into law

Washington – Search and rescue missions in Graham County will soon have a new resource to rely on. Congressman Chuck Edwards (R-Henderson) recently procured $80,000 in funding for a new police boat, which will be readily available to both Graham and Swain counties as needed.

Bill would move memorial

U.S Congressman Chuck Edwards (R-Hendersonville) recently introduced a bill to the House of Representatives to relocate a memorial to the Cherohala Skyway in Graham County, to honor the nine Air Force crew members who lost their lives in the Amore 66 plane crash.

Robbinsville – Freshman U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards spent part of Day 2 of his first tour of his sprawling 17-county congressional district with a visit to Robbinsville Middle School on Tuesday.

Cawthorn loses NC-11 bid

Beleaguered U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn lost his bid for re-election in Tuesday’s primary elections, losing to State Sen. Chuck Edwards. Edwards will go up against Democrat Jasmine Beach-Ferrara and Libertarian David Coatney in the November general election on Nov. 8.

Groups endorse challengers in NC-11 congressional race

Robbinsville – Two groups have endorsed candidates in the race for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District against incumbent Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.-11). The N.C. Police Benevolent Association endorsed Republican candidate Chuck Edwards.
