Lady Knights fall in first round of playoffs

Robbinsville – Things certainly did not go to plan. After compiling a 13-win season, winning the Smoky Mountain Conference for the fourth straight season and clinching a No. 2 seed in the 1A postseason bracket, the Lady Knights held all the cards.

Newland – Robbinsville's journey to the 1A state dual finals was halted Thursday night. The Black Knights (18-8) traveled to Avery County for the third and fourth-round of the postseason tournament, with high hopes of another state finals appearance.
