Robbinsville – The Graham County Travel & Tourism board held a meeting Nov. 4.
Friends of the Library president Maegan Shoemaker was invited to discuss funding for the local butterfly garden project, which will be located at the Graham County Public Library.
The total cost of the garden will be $94,000, which includes a 5-foot concrete slab, the structure itself, the butterflies and vegetation that is necessary for their habitat.
The library has already put in an application for a grant worth $50,000. The board wants a bit more information before they proceed with possible funding.
Shoemaker is set to meet with Graham County Manager Jason Marino and the Graham County Economic Development Director Sophia Paulos soon, to discuss the architectural steps.
