Melinda Carol Robinson Teesateskie, 52 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at her residence.

Melinda was born Aug. 23, 1970, to the late David and Ruth Davis Robinson.

She attended A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville and graduated as salutatorian of the Class of 1988.

Melinda continued her education at AB Tech and became a registered nurse. She was very enthusiastic about reading, nursing and learning.

She extended her career into becoming a midwife and teacher.

Melinda was employed by Blue Ridge Health at Swain County Schools. She was passionate about delivering babies and caring for others, especially her family.

Among her many professions, Melinda took most pride in her role as a mom. She loved to watch her boys compete and delighted in their accomplishments.

Melinda will be remembered for her immense sense of humor, and cooking skills, her limitless devotion and loyalty to family, and mostly her boundless love and commitment to her sons.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Davis, Johnny Teesateskie and Christopher Teesateskie.

She is survived by Joey Teesateskie; her sons, Joshua Caleb Teesateskie, Jacob Kyle Teesateskie, and Jonah Elijah Teesateskie of Robbinsville, N.C.; sister, Cynthia Robinson; brothers, Dale Robinson and David Robinson of Asheville, N.C.; special nieces, Alexandra Scott and Tiffany Oliver; extended family, Alyne (Turner, J.P.), Perry Teesateskie (Mag), Brenda Teesateskie, Brian Teesateskie, Samantha Teesateskie, and Heather Wachacha (Adam); and a host of nieces and nephews, all of Robbinsville, N.C.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Little Snowbird Baptist Church.

The Revs. Ernie Stiles and Rev. Darrin Self officiated.

The family received friends before the funeral from noon – 2 p.m. at Little Snowbird Baptist Church.

Committal followed in the Little Snowbird Baptist Church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ike Teesateskie, Taylor Teesateskie, Reed Tipton, Zane Wachacha, Carlos Lopez, Hayden Key, Jordan Turner, Logan Callaway and Xander Wachacha.

Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City was honored to serve the Teesateskie family.
