Vaccine efforts begin in county

Some in Graham County are able to breathe a sigh of relief, as the COVID-19 vaccine is slowly – but surely – rolled out in the community.  County Health Director Beth Booth said that as of Tuesday, 400 doses of the vaccine had been administered in Graham County.

Georgia man perishes after New Year’s crash

Stecoah – A Georgia man has died following a New Year’s night crash on Hwy. 28 in Graham County. The N.C. Highway Patrol confirmed the Jan. 11 death of 46-year-old Nghia H. Le, from injuries sustained in the wreck. Le’s address was listed as 5510 Stonewood Court in Norcross, Ga.

Too little, too late

For much of the fourth quarter Friday night, Robbinsville seemed destined to complete a comeback.

End of the road

Murphy – Instead of preparing for a playoff game, Robbinsville is saying goodbye to its 2020-21 volleyball season. For the first time since 2011, the Lady Knights (10-4, 8-4) will not be participating in the postseason, as the N.C.

Tourism office rolls out new maps

Visitors to Graham County will now have a stronger authority on where to go and what to see locally, as the Graham County Travel and Tourism Authority rolls out its new county maps.  Last week, the new county folding maps and  tear off maps premiered.

COVID shuts down Lady Knights

Robbinsville – It was just a matter of time before the global pandemic affected local sports. Following the Jan. 5 home season opener with Rosman, a player for the Lady Tigers tested positive for COVID-19. The athlete also had a mask exemption and logged considerable minutes in the contest.
