Deja vu

Robbinsville – It’s ok if you feel like you have seen this ending before. Ostensibly, you have. Sure, some of the players have changed. There’s a new setter for Robbinsville – senior Desta Trammell – and Murphy’s frontline defense has a different look for the 2022 season.

Howard Alton Garver

Howard Alton Garver, 78 and formerly of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away Monday, Aug.15, 2022, at his residence in Culleoka, Tenn., where he had resided for the past eight years. Howard was born in Rochester, N.Y., and was the son of the late Rudolph James Garver and Edith May Mosher Garver.

At Nantahala National Forest’s Cheoah District, which encompasses around 2/3 of Graham County, it’s been a rough couple of years.

Robbinsville – A lot of question marks surrounded the Black Knights’ defense as the 2022 season dawned. Robbinsville has silenced the decriers.

Leaders hear concerns at special meeting

Robbinsville – Graham County’s state legislators were in Robbinsville on Sept. 1, to hear concerns from county government and school officials about funding needs, and the impacts of state legislation on local spending.

JV upended by Cougars

Waynesville – It started off promising enough: Robbinsville recovered a fumble, then scored a touchdown and punched in a conversion to take an 8-0 lead. No one could have predicted that would be the final offensive highlight for the Black Knights on Aug. 25.
