Howard Alton Garver, 78 and formerly of Robbinsville, N.C. passed away Monday, Aug.15, 2022, at his residence in Culleoka, Tenn., where he had resided for the past eight years.
Howard was born in Rochester, N.Y., and was the son of the late
Rudolph James Garver and Edith May Mosher Garver. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona B. Garver of Robbinsville.
Howard served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and National Guard. He was also known for his craftmanship and his talent with wood working.
A celebration of life service was held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at Mooresville United Methodist Church.
Heritage Funeral Home of Columbia, Tenn. is assisting the family in Tennessee.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at the Carver Cemetery in Robbinsville, N.C., where Flag Presentation and Military Rites will be conducted by the N.C. National Guard Honor Guard, the Carringer-Webster VFW Post No. 8635, and Eller-Rogers American Legion Post No. 192. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
