Cherokee – Entering the fourth quarter of Friday’s Smoky Mountain Conference opener, Robbinsville and Cherokee were in a 7-7 deadlock.  Neither team had scored since the second quarter, and the game seemed destined to go to whoever struck next.

Lenoir City, Tenn. – After a month off, it naturally took a full quarter to knock off the rust. Robbinsville (2-1) scored its first touchdown in four weeks early in the second quarter of Friday’s game in Lenoir City, Tenn.

Robbinsville – Before Asheville had a chance to get settled, Robbinsville led 21-0. Sophomore backs Cuttler Adams and Kage Williams each had a hat trick – and the Black Knights’ defense took care of the rest – as Robbinsville handily defeated the 4A Cougars 45-23 in Friday’s season debut.

With the 2020-21 high school football season in the rearview mirror, the Smoky Mountain Conference has officially released its All-Conference list. Littered across the lineup of accolades are 17 athletes from the Robbinsville Black Knights, all who made an impact across the shortened slate.
