West Buffalo – For just the second time in history, charges of “death by distribution” have been filed in Graham County, after a local man overdosed on a lethal combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine last year.

Snowbird – Graham County Sheriff’s Deputy David Moore and Graham County Rescue Squad members were involved in rescuing a young woman from the woods in the Snowbird area Sunday night.  The woman was reportedly first heard calling for help at the Snowbird Picnic Area on Snowbird Road around 8:30 p.m.

Fontana Dam – Speed is believed to be the contributing factor to a recreational vehicle crashing April 26, just before the border of Graham/Swain counties on N.C. 28 North. Around 6:34 p.m., a 2007 Ford RV operated by 68-year-old Ronnie Edward Grubke of Conneaut, Okla.

Robbinsville – It’s over. With a favorable outcome looking dim for the defendant, Dr. David Castor – director of Bryson City-based Smoky Mountain Urgent Care – moved to have a longstanding lawsuit between himself and Graham County dismissed on April 4.
