Azalea Photo Contest ends next week

Tallulah – The entry period for the inaugural Azalea Photo Contest – a collaboration between Graham County Travel & Tourism and The Graham Star – will close Thursday, June 15.

I Love Graham County cover contest open

Tallulah – The Graham Star – Graham County’s hometown newspaper since 1955 – is now accepting artwork for the cover of its annual I Love Graham County magazine, an information guide that spotlights local residents and businesses.
Peanut – a mixed miniature Doberman and deer head Chihuahua – was always present when The Graham Star was out for delivery. The beloved dog passed away Jan. 11.

Star named Best of CNI

Tallulah – The Graham Star – Graham County’s hometown newspaper since 1955 – was recently awarded the “Best of CNI, Division B” distinction by its owner, Community Newspapers Inc. The Star was one of just two recipients of the award. with the other being the Cherokee Scout for Division A in Murphy.

With his big Nikon camera and crisp Midwestern accent, Art Miller has long been a fixture at events in Graham County, shooting photographs for The Graham Star.

10 years ago * A 56-year-old Louisiana woman died when the motorcycle that she was riding overturned and slid into a ditch. Charlotte Ritchie of Lake Charles, La. died from her injuries at UT Medical Center in Tennessee, on June 8.

Riddle joins 'Graham Star' staff

Tallulah – Hope Riddle has been named the new office manager for The Graham Star. She replaces the departing Kim Cravey, who joined the staff in November. Cravey and her husband Todd are re-locating to suburban Chattanooga.

Leaving big shoes to fill

Tallulah – When Graham County’s Marshall McClung began his dual careers in search and rescue and wilderness firefighting in 1967, Lyndon B. Johnson was president.
