Fontana Dam – A 21-year-old man is facing additional charges after being arrested in a bizarre 24-hour case last week. Graham County Sheriff Brad Hoxit confirmed to The Graham Star on Monday that the agency was working with the N.C.

Snowbird – A U.S. Forest Service crew discovered a brush fire burning shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Local firefighters from both the U.S. and N.C. forest services responded to the fire burning on Old Santeetlah Road.

Tapoco – The Graham County 911 Center received a call around 1:25 p.m. Saturday that a 65-year-old male had fallen off the Yellow Creek Falls Trail, located off U.S. 129 North. The caller also advised that the man would need to be carried out.
