New sheriff in town

Robbinsville – Jerry Crisp was sworn in as Graham County’s new sheriff Tuesday afternoon, ending an almost month-long saga between Crisp and the county’s Board of Commissioners. “It feels good,” Crisp said, moments after being sworn in Tuesday. “All I want to do is get started doing the job.

Commissioners adopt $15 million budget

Robbinsville – Graham County will operate on a budget totaling $15,762,076 for the 2020-21 fiscal year. The county’s Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the budget as presented by county manager Becky Garland at Tuesday’s meeting.

County jail needs $25K

County deemed 'gun sanctuary'

Robbinsville – There was hardly an empty seat in the audience for Tuesday’s meeting of the Graham County Board of Commissioners.  The resolution declaring Graham County a Second-Amendment Sanctuary may have been what drew most of the audience members.

General fund at $10 million

Robbinsville – During Tuesday’s meeting with the Graham County Board of Commissioners, County Manager and Finance Officer Becky Garland was “very proud to report” that Graham County’s general fund holds over $10 million.
