Robbinsville – Since press time for The Graham Star's Dec. 4 edition, four additional candidates have joined the expansive line-up for the local 2026 ballot. Incumbents Natasha Williams and Jacob Nelms filed for re-election to the Graham County Board of Commissioners on Dec.

Refuge president: 'We need help'

Robbinsville – The message from Brittney Holder was straightforward: commissioners need to take action on helping curb the overpopulation of stray animals in Graham County. The owner of B’s Pet Grooming spoke to elected officials during Nov.

Car crash leaves two injured

Mill Creek – A two-vehicle accident Friday on Tallulah Road resulted in two drivers being transported to area hospitals. Around 3:28 p.m., Anahi Aguilar of Andrews was traveling north on U.S. 129, near the intersection of Lower Mill Creek Road.

Man dies in single-vehicle accident

Santeetlah – An accident early Saturday morning claimed the life of a Robbinsville resident. A report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol stated that 22-year-old Aaron Gerald Phillips was traveling east in a Ford F250 truck on Joyce Kilmer Road around 12:28 a.m.

Votes gained, but seats remain same after provisionals

Robbinsville – Friday's unsealing of the 2025 municipal election provisional ballots resulted in candidates for Robbinsville's board of aldermen and mayor races all receiving additional nods of approval from constituents, but not enough to change the outcome of Nov. 4's unofficial results.
