* Robbinsville downed Hayesville in Smoky Mountain Conference action, 16-8. Eric Crisp returned a Yellow Jackets punt 72 yards to break the opening deadlock. Christian Pagel followed up with a PAT. Hayesville pulled ahead when Jimmy Burrows rushed across from nine yards out and Jeff Waldroup ran in a conversion. The Knights took control once more when Kip Adams scored on a 17-yard scamper in the third quarter. Pagel later nailed a 31-yard field goal in the fourth to polish off the win.

* Construction began on a new locker room at Stecoah School. The $1,500 project was undertaken by basketball players, students and community members.
* The JV Black Knights completed an undefeated 6-0 season by downing Swain County, 38-28. Deron Shuler finished the finale with 257 passing yards and two touchdowns in the air, as well as a rushing score. Tony Rattler eclipsed 100 rushing yards and found the end zone, while Terry Williams also turned in a pair of scores on the ground.
* Robbinsville overcame a first-quarter deficit to surpass the Cullowhee Rebels, 36-13. Held scoreless after the first, the Rebels were unable to stifle Ricky Stiles in the second quarter. Stiles got the Knights on the board with a one-yard run, before sprinting downfield on an 88-yard dash. Scott Odom later reeled in a 10-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Shuler to cap the first-half rally. Shuler accounted for Robbinsville's second-half blows, finding the end zone on runs of 57 and 10 yards. Kevin Waldroup booted six PATs in the victory.

* The Robbinsville Black Knights soured the Andrews Wildcats' homecoming, defeating the hosts 36-14. Mark Manuel connected with Lowell Snider on a 90-yard touchdown pass – then a program record – while Manuel also recorded a 10-yard rushing touchdown; a two-point conversion; and kicked a pair of PATs. David Jordan posted a pair of scoring tramples, while Jacob Jackson rushed across the goal line from 16 yards out and also ran in a conversion.
