Lady Knights fall in first round of playoffs

Robbinsville – Things certainly did not go to plan. After compiling a 13-win season, winning the Smoky Mountain Conference for the fourth straight season and clinching a No. 2 seed in the 1A postseason bracket, the Lady Knights held all the cards.

Robbinsville – A hearing for Graham County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Matthew Cox will take place on June 30 in Swain County, after Superior Court Judge William Coward found nothing exculpatory when reviewing his file on May 6 in Graham County.

Need for speed

Robbinsville – Students in the 21st Century Afterschool Program at Robbinsville Elementary School and Robbinsville Middle School got to participate in a fun competition last week, with the hosting of two pinewood derbies.

County stations grapple with fuel shortage

Graham County gas stations are reeling from a fuel shortage in the eastern United States brought on by a cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline.

Humvee theft leads to two-county chase

Robbinsville – It started with a vehicle being taken from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.  It continued in Cherokee County.  And it ended just shy of the Macon County line.

Knights drop first two games

Murphy – For a moment, Robbinsville was in the driver’s seat. Starting pitcher Jeb Shuler led off the Knights’ road game Saturday against Murphy with a solo homer over the left-field fence, giving Robbinsville a boost of momentum before the defense even took the field.
