SONIC helps local instructor purchase classroom materials

A Graham County educator was able to further outfit her classroom, thanks to a grant from a well-known fast food chain.

Fontana Dam maps out 2021-22 budget

Fontana Dam – Graham County’s smallest municipality has presented its upcoming fiscal budget. At its June 16 council meeting, the Town of Fontana Dam discussed the year ahead. The prediction included $244,700.

Man charged with kidnapping

Tallulah – A Graham County man was arrested after an alleged kidnapping incident on June 14.  Christopher Drew Hill, 41, was arrested after allegedly unlawfully restraining another man.

Local man charged with indecent liberties

A Graham County man remains behind bars, after being arrested June 8 on the charge of indecent liberties with a child. Phillip James Graham, 21, was arrested after allegedly committing a “lewd and lascivious act” on a child under the age of 16 and at least five years younger than him.

‘I just want my name cleared’

Robbinsville – It has been nothing short of a contentious stint since Shaun Adams was elected to the Robbinsville Board of Aldermen in 2017. Adams’ recent absence from town meetings – 18 in total, across a 16-month span – came to an end with his return to the June 2 meeting.
