‘We want a better, safer community

Robbinsville – A group of citizens concerned about growing substance problems in Graham County have banded together to appeal the county government for help in the fight.

Need for speed

Robbinsville – Students in the 21st Century Afterschool Program at Robbinsville Elementary School and Robbinsville Middle School got to participate in a fun competition last week, with the hosting of two pinewood derbies.

County to receive first J&J doses

Robbinsville – With the pause in administration of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine lifted in North Carolina and across the country, the Graham County Health Department will receive 100 doses of the vaccine this week.

Santeetlah budget hearing continued until May

Lake Santeetlah – One county township has continued its budget hearing to May 15, after many citizens asked for a second hearing.  The Town of Lake Santeetlah held its first budget hearing on Saturday, giving details of its proposed 2021-22 town budget. As it was a hearing, no action was taken.

Brush fires continue

Atoah – The recent spell of dry and windy weather has resulted in a number of small brush fires in Graham County, including one in Hoot Owl Hollow off Atoah Circle. Fire personnel from the N.C. Forest Service, U.S.
