Alta Waldroup Pitcox, 83 of the Snowbird community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of Graham County, and the daughter of the late Troy and Netter Stewart Waldroup. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Pitcox.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Robinson and son, Chris Pitcox, both of Robbinsville, N.C.; sisters, Cora Clark of Hayesville, N.C. and Nellie Cunningham of Annapolis, Md.; and stepchildren, Lee, David, John, Debbie, Toni and Sharon.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chelsea Clark, Jacob Pitcox, Chase and Maddison Robinson, Rhonda Garrett and Erin Hyde; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Daniel Stewart officiated. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the chapel, prior to the service.
A committal service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Carver Cemetery.
